AVNER

SINGER

The inspiration for Avner's vessels comes from traditional Middle Eastern pots that were made for storing and transporting water. His work strives to pay homage to the potters who once made these vessels. He creates a traditional form and then quarters the vessel, thus producing a surface for decoration on which he uses modern technology to print images of traditional local art and patterns that depict Arab and Jewish cultures as well as items and objects that symbolize everyday life in the region.
